J6 is blessed to have Gordon Gower serve as our pulpit minister! You’ll want to take a minute to shake his hand and say hello to this wonderful person who loves God, the church, his family, and the outdoors. For an added treat, sit near him during the song service because he loves to sing too!

Gordon grew up in the church and affirms how those experiences were powerful influences on his life to this day.

He earned a degree in Bible and Greek and started out on his first ministry in 1973 with his wife, Glynna. He later earned a master’s degree and a degree in education.

Since 1973 Gordon has served as an associate minister, pulpit minister, interim minister, elder, and Sunday morning Bible class teacher. Clearly, he is happiest when sharing the good news with others.

Another happy place for Gordon is the outdoors. He had a five-year career as a National Park Ranger in southeast Utah and has been an amateur astronomer for over 50 years. For 20 years he and Glynna operated a wilderness Christian camp; and he led more than 40 wilderness treks.

Gordon celebrated 50 years of marriage to his lovely wife, Glynna in December! They are blessed to have their son and a daughter-in-law, who live in Tucson as well.
